This download contains a 17-page illustrated PDF featuring brief passages from three classic works of literature, a series of KS2 reading comprehension questions and an accompanying answers sheet. The passages are taken from the following novels:

  • The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum
  • Five Children and It by E. Nesbit
  • The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Graham

Each passage is accompanied by its own comprehension worksheet, featuring questions that focus on the key skills of inference, information retrieval and vocabulary use. Ideal for morning activities, short reading sessions or for sparking student’s interest in a particular classic text.
