These PDF worksheets are an excellent way for children in year 2 to revise and practise spelling words with the /or/ sound spelt ‘ar’ in words after ‘w’. The worksheets include five different activities in which children look at spelling patterns, identify misspelt words and apply their spellings in context. They can be used within lessons, as an assessment or as a homework task. This primary resource is divided into five sections: Tips Underline the letter making the /or/ sound in each word Check Circle the correct spelling of the given words and add the letters ‘ar’ to complete the words Use Use the images, and the words underneath, to write a sentence about each Change Read each sentence and change the underlined word or phrase for the words listed Apply Write a description of the picture, trying to use as many of the words listed as possible Examples of words with the letters ‘ar’ making an /or/ sound after ‘w’ from English Appendix 1:
