Develop pupils’ inference skills using inspiring and thought provoking images. This pack includes an image to prompt discussions about a particular setting.

Using inference when reading, watching films or looking at images is an important skill when developing pupils’ comprehension. The use of images removes the need to decode, meaning that pupils with varying degrees of reading fluency can all discuss and answer questions about the same image to develop inference skills.

This resource asks questions about an image of treasure, encouraging children to think about where it is and how it might have got there.

This resource pack includes:

  • PDF image – Lost Treasure
  • Question cards
  • Answer cards
  • Speech and thought bubble templates
  • PPT teaching slides with the image and questions.
  • Blank question cards
