This LKS2 grammar Bingo game is a fun way to support pupils in Y3 to identify the present perfect tense.

They will have the opportunity to use both present perfect verb forms and the simple past tense.

The game can be played as a class or in small groups and is perfect for adult led interventions to revisit key knowledge and skills.

This resource pack includes:

  • Bingo caller cards
  • 10 bingo cards
  • Teacher’s notes

What is the present perfect tense?

The present perfect tense is used to describe:

  1. Something which was just completed (I have finished my dinner.)
  2. Something which has happened, but still has an effect on what is happening now (Jim has broken his arm.)
  3. Something which has happened over a long period, but isn’t finished yet (Tom has raced every Saturday for a year.)
