This ‘Make a Match’ game is a fun way for pupils in year 4 to explore collective nouns. Pupils will match the collective noun to the group of people, animals or objects that it describes.

This grammar game can be played as a class or in small groups and is perfect for adult led interventions to revisit key knowledge and skills.

What is a collective noun?

A collective noun is the name given to a group of people, animals or objects. Examples include a bunch of bananas, a choir of singers or a herd of elephants.
