This Y2 common exception word (CEW) pack contains dictation sentences for the 64 tricky words for year 2 to help pupils write sentences from memory. The sentences can be read out loud by an adult, or pupils could use their decoding skills and knowledge of common exception words to read the sentences to their peers.

The following common exception words are included in this resource:

Set 1: child, children, door, floor, poor, kind, find, mind, behind, wild, climb
Set 2: both, old, cold, gold, every, everybody, hold, told, most, only
Set 3: because, again, great, steak, break, many, any, parents, Christmas, pretty, beautiful
