This bright, appealing grammar worksheet is an excellent way to practise and revise using correct punctuation for sentences in Y2.

This primary resource is divided into five sections:

  • Understand
Write the correct punctuation at the end of each sentence, and rewrite the statement provided with the missing punctuation added
  • Challenge
Write a statement, exclamation and question about the picture, and think about which punctuation mark is needed at the end of each sentence
  • Test
Tick the sentences that are statements, then tick the name of the punctuation mark that should complete each sentence listed
  • Explain
Write down why each of the three sentences need to end with a question mark, exclamation mark and full stop
  • Apply
Write the beginning of a story about going out to fly a kite, remembering to punctuate your sentences correctly

Activities include SATs-style questions and opportunities for creative writing responses, with eye-catching images as prompts.
