Real Writing
  • Covers every objective for years 1-6
  • Over 150 high-quality model texts
  • A whole year's worth of lessons

This Year 2 Real Writing unit is built around a fictional recount from the point of view of a female engineer, written by published author Jo Franklin

Pupils explore the features of a recount and sequence events using provided resources. They practise spelling words with the /j/ sound spelt with a ‘g’ and extend sentences using subordinating conjunctions.

The children will write their own recount about a professional after exploring what their job entails. The unit spans two to three weeks of detailed lesson planning.
