Help young learners to understand past and present by exploring how the appliances and technology we have at home have changed over time. Images showing everyday objects found in homes now and in the past can be used to prompt discussion, develop oracy and begin to develop a basic understanding of chronology, helping children to recognise things that were used in the past, before they were born.
Children will have the opportunity to talk about similarities and differences between things in the past and now.
Included in the EYFS resource pack
- Things at home: past and present cards
- Heading cards: past/present, then/now
- Homes in the future worksheet
- Teacher notes with guidance on how the resources could be used in the classroom
