Inspiring Early Years resources
Our fully-resourced lesson packs cover all seven areas of learning and development. The activities are mapped to the EYFS framework, and the Early Learning Goals covered are listed for each pack.
These Early Years resources are suitable for all settings, and make learning fun for everyone. Here are some of our favourites…
Oracy and emergent writing resources
Help your children establish strong communication skills with these oracy-focused resources.

The vibrant images in the Describing Birds pack will help you get children discussing all the different birds they can see around the local area. This can lead to some great opportunities for emergent writing, with the children using drawings or words to share what they've learned.

Use this Past & Present: Things in the Home pack to prompt discussion, develop oracy and begin to develop a basic understanding of chronology. Children examine images of home appliances from different time periods. They then talk about similarities and differences between things in the past and now.

Pancake Day offers an ideal opportunity to get children talking about something that interests them - namely, sweets and toppings! Pupils use image cards to show what they might want to put on their pancakes. They then design and label their own topping combinations.
Early Years resources to develop fine motor skills

These Handwriting Practice Sheets contain a variety of shapes and patterns for children to trace and draw. This will help them to develop their pencil grip and control.

Add some excitement to handwriting practice with these Fireworks resources. Pupils use their fingers, pens or the rocket templates provided to follow the patterns that different fireworks make in the sky. This pack can also be used to inspire art and drama activities.
Vocabulary-building and communication skills

The Nursery Rhymes Week pack includes colourful puppet templates, nursery rhyme lyrics and activity ideas. It's time to get everyone joining in with classic rhymes!

Use our Story Telling and Sequencing Cards to prompt children to develop their oral storytelling and sequencing skills. This resource pack includes sequencing cards and puppet templates for two well-known traditional tales.
Personal, social and emotional development focus

The Early Years resources and activities in our Celebrating Acts of Kindness whole-school pack are designed to inspire pupils to be kind. The pack also highlights all the different ways children can show kindness in their daily life.

The Things That Make Me Happy! pack is really useful for helping children identify what makes them happy and learn how to improve their overall sense of wellbeing. You may want to revisit these exercises through the year.
Festivals and celebrations

Why not celebrate the festival of light with our Diwali Patterns resources? The children will examine and discuss images of Diwali lights and decorations before creating their own rangoli patterns.

Learn all about the traditions of the Jewish new year with our Celebrating Rosh Hashanah resources. After exploring the sights, sounds and tastes of Rosh Hashanah, children will be encouraged to share their own experiences of celebrations and festivals.
Understanding the world

You can use our World Space Week pack at any time of the year to introduce children to the wonders of space.
Where might they travel? What will they see? This resource supports children in thinking creatively about the solar system, planets and other objects beyond Earth while developing key Early Learning Goals.

Our On the Farm resources are ideal to use both before and after a farm visit to introduce and recap things the children might see in the countryside. As well as word cards and images, the pack includes a counting activity to help children practise the numbers 1-10.
Physical development

How might an animal dance? Our Animal Dance: Movement and Music Activities Pack prompts children to explore how animals move. Pupils are then asked to imagine how animals might in time to music!
The children are given the opportunity to move energetically outside or in a large indoor space. They will learn new vocabulary to describe their movements.

Our Healthy Food Choices Activities and Worksheets introduce the concept of healthy eating and good food choices to children in an accessible way. After learning about different types of food, pupils will design their own healthy plate.
