Explore how words are linked as synonyms and antonyms using this winter themed writing pack. Pupils will learn how synonyms can be used to vary vocabulary choices and how antonyms can show contrast when writing. Pupils will look at contrasting winter images, collecting vocabulary that could be used to describe them, using a thesaurus to find examples of synonyms. They will then go on to write a short description of a walk in the snow and how they then felt when they came inside showing the contrast using their knowledge of antonyms.
