This pack contains a variety of Year 1 spellings. Children can be given the included word cards and asked to discuss the common spelling patterns, before sorting said cards into groups. The accompanying ‘teacher notes’ document includes several suggested activities that will help pupils revise and improve their understanding of key spellings in an engaging, hands-on way.
This download contains the following materials:
- A 38-page ‘Spelling document’ consisting of a number of cut-out ‘vocabulary’ word cards, plus a series of ‘spelling pattern’ word cards
- A teacher review sheet to help with checking the children’s work.
- A teacher notes document detailing four suggested activities, plus a set of 1-, 2-, and 3-column tables that children can use to organise their vocabulary and spelling pattern word cards
