Christingle services have become popular throughout the UK, with many schools taking part in church services in their local communities. Do your pupils understand what Christingles symbolise and how this tradition began? Read the text as a class to help pupils learn more about this seasonal service and the Christian beliefs that it symbolises and complete the comprehension activity to check their understanding of what they have read. A writing task is included to allow pupils to demonstrate their understanding of Christian beliefs linked to the Christingle. The resource could be used as part of learning in RE or within whole class or group guided reading sessions.
