KS1 New Year Oracy and Writing Pack

Encourage pupils in years 1 and 2 to reflect positively on the year that has passed and welcome in the new year with this collection of worksheets.

Pupils will record ‘snapshots’ of the previous year, recording things that they have enjoyed and their achievements and then go onto record their things that they would like to do and achieve in the new year.

The resources will:

• develop oracy
• encourage pupils to reflect positively on the past year
• help pupils celebrate their achievements
• give pupils the opportunity to set targets for the coming year.

• Snapshots of last year
  A worksheet where pupils can record events and achievements with room to record their ideas through drawing, writing or a combination of the two
• Welcome the new year
  A worksheet for pupils to record three things they would like to do in the new year and three things that they would like to improve
